ABROGAR, FONACIER, AMADOR, SPEAK FOR GRAD '07

the graduating class of 2007.

Three equally important persona in different fields urged the graduating class of 2007 in March to ‘shine’ in their chosen paths.

“Never stop dreaming... find out who you really are and what you want to become...” These were the words spoken by Melannie Amador, registered nurse and SMCL alumna. She challenged the grade school graduates on March 28 to “be of service to others, to your country and to your God.”

Amador recounted her experiences as a Michaelean and now as a nurse. She emphasized that “everyone is unique and you have to embrace that uniqueness.”

On the other hand, Nicole Marie Fonacier, MTV VJ Plus, Student Activities Coordinator of University of the Assumption and Spokesmodel of the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, persuaded the graduating high school students to make good decisions and be winners in their chosen careers.

“I look around and I see choices,” Fonacier said on March 29 at the STH.

“When we were little children, decisions were made for us. But when you step out of the STH, you will have to face great responsibilities. You have to decide which school or what course to take, but the real decision is whether to win or lose,” she added.

Finally, Atty, Annette Gozon-Abrogar, President of GMA Films, Inc., told the graduating college students to “dream, believe, and survive” on April 1. She told the success story of her company, the film production arm of GMA Network, Inc., which started from simple movies that led to commercial success. She added that faith in God is “an important part of setting a goal.”

Commencement 2007 was webcast live through http://www.smcl.edu.ph to give OFW parents and other relatives access to live feeds of the ceremonies.
