CPDP introduces Staff academy
The Faculty/Staff Focus Strategic Intervention Program resulted in a professionally competent and highly motivated team.
Transformative education, which is one of the major thrusts of the 21st century, requires a retooling and reengineering of existing structures and practices.
Addressing this pressing concern is the Michaelean Staff Academy which is a prescribed course of study that aims to realize the following objectives: equip the faculty and staff with the tools and techniques that need to be developed for them to successfully adapt to their evolving roles on instruction, research, and extension and support complement in line with the competency standards, improve efficiency and effectiveness in their service delivery through the application of the competencies/skills learned, and create an organizational climate that promotes cooperation, collaboration, convergence and interaction.
Using coaching and peer mentoring as tools, and with the program of the activities that include: needs assessment, microsessions with participating faculty/staff, application of tools/ techniques learned and monitoring, and evaluation; the expected outcomes will be realized sooner than later.
Noteworthy were the seminars on: business, etiquette and customer service with Prof. Salome L. Morandarte, as resource person, a model of teaching expertise with Dr. Flordeliza Reyes, Pedagogical Theater: Strategies for Teachers with Prof. Alberto Saldajeno; English Modalities with Dr. Estela Pinga and Cooperative Learning Methadologies with Dr. Nilda Sunga.
