DA SILVA cops first place in 4th Summit for Young Entrepreneurs

The Da Silva family loves to travel. Inspired by the wealth of experiences that he gets from traveling, Harold, would always encourage his family composed of Edilyn, his wife and his children, Adrian, Daniel and Angel to join him. The arrangement is well received except for one thing. Angel, the youngest is deaf-mute thus most of the time he cannot join his brothers in going out. Saddened by this reality and inspired by Angel’s enthusiasm to communicate, the family thought of travel tour packages that will ferry hearing-impaired children to different places in the Philippines.

Such was the concept paper presented by Adrian Da Silva to the President of the Philippines, her Excellency, Gloria Macapagal-arroyo and to the young entrepreneurs who attended the 4th Summit for Young Entrepreneurs on 23 February to 25, 2006 at the Market! Market! Fort Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. The President visited the exposition of the first "Go Negosyo Entrepreneurship Summit, which showcases the entrepreneurial skills of the Filipinos by both would-be entrepreneurs and already established entrepreneurs.

Adrian, a second year student from St. Augustine, was declared the First Place Winner in the Services Category for his Angel Trekkers business venture.

On 3 March, 2006, Adrian presented his business plan to the Michaeleans in a program sponsored by the College/Central Student Councils and the SMCL Z/Golden Z Clubs. Recognizing his achievement under the Student Talent and Academic Recognition (S.T.A.R.) Program, SMCL President and CEO, Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese presented him a certificate of full scholarship for school year 2006-2007.
