As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of Saint Michael's College of Laguna, Michaeleans raised funds to donate a pre-school classroom for a Gawad Kalinga (GK) community in Pangil first semester. Freshmen enrolled in National Service Training Program (NSTP) helped the faculty and staff of SMCL led by Dr. Lourdes A. Sese (President) to break the ground for the classroom at GK Pinagpala Village, Sitio Dambo, May 24.

Then, the Michaelean community returned on Oct. 24 to apply the first coating of paint onto the constructed building. On Oct. 27, Dr. Sese turned over the key of the classroom to the community as witnessed by the Kapitbahayan. The classroom was named SIBOL Happy House because it was painted with happy colors of hope: pink, blue, green, and yellow. Msgr. Mario Castillo officiated the blessing and ribbon-cutting of SIBOL Happy House.GK Provincial Head Jaime Ching and Project Coordinator Rodolfo Rivera acknowledged the efforts of the Michaeleans in sharing GK's vision of a better Philippines.
