RELUCIO: Employees' rihgts and management prerogatives
On February 17, Atty. Andrea Antonette Sese-Relucio, a labor relations lawyer and a hands-on mom, shared her insights on Employees’ Rights and Management Prerogatives to college senior students. Initially, she briefed the students on the coverage and the limitations of management prerogatives – the law recognizes the right of every employer to manage its business according to his own discretion and judgment. privileges that new hirees should enjoy as mandated by law.
Atty. Relucio discussed the complete screening procedures that an applicant had to go through, the conditions of work, benefits, and privileges and non-diminution of benefits. The students were intent in listening to her sharing on discrimination and harassment laws particularly on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995. The highlight of Atty. Relucio’s talk was on substantive due process where she presented the list of just causes for termination and the authgorized causes.
Atty. Relucio was given a certificate of appreciation by her mother, SMCL President, Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese, Ed.D.
