The Michaelean Herald, the student publication of the College division, reaped honors in the Regional Higher Education Press Conference held on December 7-9, 2008 at Tagaytay City. TMH placed 9th Best in News Page, 10th Best in Features Page, and 10th Best in Literary Page. Editor in chief Sophia Aleli Beltran won 3rd place in the Column Writing contest. Literary editor Julius Reyes copped 10th place in Poetry Writing while chief cartoonist Arjane Evangelista won 10th place in Comic Strip Drawing.

Having won in the Region IV-A contest, the school paper qualified in the 8th Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference held at Puerto Princesa City on February 11-14. This was the culmination of the eliminations done in the regional level. TMH was one of the top finalists in the tabloid category (news and features pages). Photojournalist Juan Paulo Cruz participated in the sessions and observed the contests in preparation for next year's press conference.
