SMCL PRESENTS CHED AWARD IN PAASA INT'L CONVENTION
Miss Ness R. Cuevas,Director, Center for Students and Co-curricular Affairs presented the Scholarship Program of SMCL to the participants of the 1st Philippine Association of Administrators of Student Affairs (PAASA) Inc. International Convention at Supreme Hotel, Baguio City on 30 July – 03 August.
The theme of the convention was very timely for all student affairs practitioners: “From Service Provision to Student Formation.” It affirmed that students are no longer passive recipients but active players in student affairs services.
SMCL is the Regional and National Winner – Best in Student Welfare (Scholarships) in the Commission on Higher Education’s Best Student Services Award. To address access and equity, SMCL extends financial assistance in the form of tuition fee subsidies and scholarships to deserving and qualified students.
Among the top picks worth emulating based on the delegations’ response were the Barkadahang Walang Iwanan, Milagros Ligaya Limaco Learning Laboratory, Michaelean Ako Scholarship Program and the Industry Linkages (Jollibee Foods Inc. and SM Foundation).
The SMCL delegation also included Prof. Elena R. Manalo, GS Principal and Prof. Flora S. Aguirre, Career Placement and Counseling Office Director. Miss Ness was elected Treasurer and Prof. Aguirre, Board Member of PAASA Region IV-A Board.
