Zonta honors SMCL Z clubs in victory party bash
Zonta Club of (ZCL) Laguna hosted a victory party for the SMCL Z and Golden Clubs for their back-to-back win in 2005-2006 Emma Conlon Service Award at The Poolside, Palms Country Club, Alabang, Muntinlupa City on February 21. The party was held to celebrate the third time that Golden Z Club won first prize and the first time for the Z Club to cop the top spot.
Former Z Club president Jean Katherine Sales and former Golden Z Club president Miriam Hapiz graced the occasion which was attended by officers and members of ZCL headed by Ms. Claudette Mendiola-Cruz. Z and Golden Z Clubbers took charge of the doxology and intermission numbers.
The Z Club also launched its latest project: the “Change for the Better” fundraising campaign. Tin cans will be used to collect extra change for Gawad Kalinga, an anti-poverty movement.
The project was in full swing in March. The cans were distributed to various establishments where loose change are common such as schools, public transports, food establishments’ counter, department stores, grocery shops, airport screening stations (for left-over foreign coins), hotels to name a few.
