SMCL spearheads Research Consortium

Saint Michael's College of Laguna spearheaded the formation of a research consortium among private institutions of higher learning in the country. The consortium is a major project of the Office of the Executive Vice-President of SMCL. EVP Flordeliza Clemente-Reyes presented the concept paper on the nature, objectives, and benefits of the collaboration during the Board meeting of the Philippine Association of Private Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAPSCU) on October 17, 2007; culminating in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement on November 14. The seventeen members of the research consortium are: Jose Rizal University, Baliuag University, Manila Central University, Technological Institute of the Philippines, Lyceum of Batangas, Lyceum Institute of Technology, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Saint Michael’s College of Laguna, Southern Luzon Institute, Rizal Marine & Technocomputer College, Marikina Polytechnic College, IETI College of Science & Technology, Trace College, Central Luzon Technological College, STI College-Sta. Rosa, University of Perpetual Help System and Tomas Claudio Memorial College. The consortium consists of collaboration on research, human resource development and resource sharing. The consortium is the brainchild of SMCL President, Dr. Lourdes Almeda-Sese.
