Vision-Mission of the Psychology Program

• The Bachelor of Science in Psychology Program envisions the development of graduates who are humane and service-oriented, equipped with solid basic knowledge and skills in psychology.


• To realize this vision, the program shall strengthen the program curricula designed to prepare students to apply psychological theories and methods in psychological inquiry, assessments and evaluation; conduct psychological research in building knowledge related to the discipline; and intensify outreach community services to respond to the needs of the clients in diverse cultural setting.


Specific Objectives of the Psychology Program

The program aims to produce citizens who can translate the mission and vision into realities through:


Proper utilization of knowledge

• Possess adequate knowledge of major theories and concepts in psychology.

• Demonstrate understanding of the methods of psychological inquiry in personal and professional setting.


Skills

• Demonstrate and apply psychological theories and methods.

• Display skills and abilities to be a reflective and research-oriented helping professional.

• Demonstrate skills in assessment or evaluation of needs and in selecting, designing and conducting appropriate assessments or evaluations.


Values

• Demonstrate appropriate attributes required in the psychology profession.

• Observes ethical rules concerning conduct of research and projects.

• Manifest a desire to continuously pursue personal and professional development.
